Master’s Degree Programs for Certified Teachers
Undergraduates who are completing a bachelor’s degree program in education are encouraged to apply to one of the programs listed below.
All New York State certified teachers require a master’s degree within five years of their initial certification. Hunter’s School of Education meets this need, offering numerous innovative programs designed for certified teachers. Flexibly designed with the working educator in mind, these programs will enable you to earn professional certification while enhancing your teaching skills through relevant coursework or additional clinical experiences. Undergraduates who are completing a bachelor’s degree program in education and are on track to earn initial certification upon graduation are encouraged to apply to one of the programs listed below. Experienced educators may also apply to these programs to specialize in new fields and methods, deepen their knowledge of existing areas of interest, and advance their career.
Our programs in Literacy, TESOL, and Special Education target a range of student populations, and provide teachers with a deep grounding in research-based practice. For teachers seeking to engage the next generation of engineers, mathematicians, and scientists, we offer professional certificates in STEM and elementary mathematics education.
