This post-master’s, advanced certificate program will prepare you to serve as a teacher of students with severe and multiple disabilities, including those with deaf-blindness, in educational programs from birth to grade 12.

New York State annotation extension certification in Severe and Multiple Disabilities
Eligibility and Admission Requirements
This program is designed for applicants who possess a master’s degree and hold New York State teacher certification.
- A master’s degree in Special Education with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.5 in the degree that led to certification
- Initial, professional or permanent New York State certification in:
- Early Childhood Special Education, Birth to Grade 2
- Students with Disabilities, Grades 1 to 6
- Students with Disabilities, Grades 7 to 12
- Blind and Visually Impaired
- Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities PreK to 12
- A statement of purpose
- Two letters of recommendation
