While You Are A Student

Students in the School of Education work with three types of advisors:

  • Academic Advisor (Faculty Advisor or Program Leader) – Helps you navigate your course sequence, plan for certification or licensure exams, and serves as a mentor in your field.

  • Administrative Advisor – Your go-to for certification support, graduation requirements, Hunter College policies, and general guidance when you’re not sure where to turn.

  • Clinical Placement Specialist – Assists with fingerprinting, applications and requirements for clinical placements, including fieldwork, student teaching, and practicum courses.
