Aspiring Teachers

Whether you are an undergraduate freshman, a transfer student, new to the education landscape or currently working with youth, Hunter has a pathway to teacher certification for you.

Undergraduate Teacher Education Pathways

If you are a new undergraduate or a transfer student, you may earn a Bachelor’s degree through one of our Undergraduate Teacher Education Pathway Programs which leads to New York State teacher certification. Students who declare an education major or minor also have a second major in another Liberal Arts & Science and fulfill the Hunter Core requirements for graduation.

Graduate Programs for Aspiring Teachers

If you don’t have an undergraduate degree in education, start your path toward teacher certification with a master’s degree program. Our graduate programs are designed for working professionals who are ready to make an impact in urban education.
