Learning and Assessment Advanced Certificate
Program Overview
This advanced certificate will help teachers increase their knowledge and training in assessment and student learning. This 16-credit advanced certificate program will address the needs of individuals who seek to know more about quality assessment in classrooms and beyond, and how that relates to student cognition and motivation.
Students who complete this program can apply to continue their study through the Master’s degree program in Educational Psychology. If admitted to the master’s program, all 16 credits of this certificate program can transfer towards the requirements of the master’s program, provided they meet general transfer of credit requirements.

This program does not lead to New York State (NYS) teacher certification or licensure.
Eligibility and Admission Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of at least 3.0, and a master’s degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of at least 3.5
- A statement of purpose
- Two letters of recommendation
