Robert Noyce Scholarship Program

 

Each Noyce Scholar will receive up to $20,000 in scholarship support in their last two years of their programs. Prior to the last year, as Noyce Associates, students will engage in paid STEM-related education experiences or STEM research. To be eligible for the program, students must:

• Have a declared major in a math or science discipline and admitted to the School of Education;
• Have at least 65 credits;
• Have an overall GPA of 3.0
• Be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident
• Have an electronic FAFSA on file

As part of the requirements to receive funding, Noyce Scholars must commit to teaching in a high-needs school for two years for every $10,000 in scholarship support received. (A high-needs school refers to a school system in which 50 percent or more of the enrolled students are eligible to participate in the free or reduced lunch program.)

What the program offers:

• Individual advisement;
• Academic Tutoring;
• Opportunity to be an e-mentor to a middle or high school student;
• Opportunities to work/socialize with other Hunter College STEM students;
• Professional Development Seminars
• Job Counseling/Placement
• Mentoring and support during the first year of teaching
