Co-Authored Article Receives Honorable Mention for the Alan C. Purves Award

Melissa Schieble, Professor of English Education, and David Connor, retired Professor of Special Education, received an honorable mention for the Alan C. Purves Award for their article “Applying a Critical Disability Studies Lens to Young Adult Literature: Disrupting Ableism in Depictions of Tourette Syndrome.”

The Alan C. Purves Award is presented annually to the authors of the Research in the Teaching of English article from the previous year’s volume judged as likely to have the greatest impact on educational practice.
