COCO 700 – Life Stage Development

  • Credits: 3
  • Pre-/Co-Requisites: None. Complete prior to Internship.
  • Fall or Spring Semester

COCO 701 – Counseling & Interviewing Skills

  • Credits: 3
  • Pre-/Co-Requisites: None. Complete prior to Fieldwork.
  • Fall or Spring Semester
  • This is a clinical course. Students who do not obtain a grade of at least “B” in identified Clinical Courses have not successfully completed the course. Students need to petition the program and be approved to continue in the program. These clinical courses along with COCO 707 must be taken at Hunter College.

COCO 702 – Theories of Counseling

  • Credits: 3
  • Pre-/Co-Requisites: None. Complete prior to Fieldwork.

COUNR 716 – Resources and Foundations of Rehabilitation

COUNR 718 – Practicum in Counseling

  • Credits: 3
  • Complete prior to Internship
  • Prerequisites: COCO 701, COCO 702
  • Pre/Co-Requisites: COCO 700; COUNR 716
  • Corequisite: COUNR 719
  • Must complete fieldwork application and be approved to enroll.
  • Fall or Spring Semester
  • This is a clinical course. Students who do not obtain a grade of at least “B” in identified Clinical Courses have not successfully completed the course. Students need to petition the program and be approved to continue in the program. These clinical courses along with COCO 707 must be taken at Hunter College.

COUNR 725 – Internship in Counseling I

  • Credits: 4
  • Prerequisites: COUNR 718; COUNR 719; COCO 706
  • Must complete fieldwork application and be approved to enroll.
  • Only begins in Fall, then continues to COUNR 726 in Spring
  • This is a clinical course. Students who do not obtain a grade of at least “B” in identified Clinical Courses have not successfully completed the course. Students need to petition the program and be approved to continue in the program. These clinical courses along with COCO 707 must be taken at Hunter College.

COUNR 726 – Internship in Counseling II

  • Credits: 4
  • Prerequisites: COUNR 725
  • Must complete fieldwork application and be approved to enroll.
  • Spring Only
  • This is a clinical course. Students who do not obtain a grade of at least “B” in identified Clinical Courses have not successfully completed the course. Students need to petition the program and be approved to continue in the program. These clinical courses along with COCO 707 must be taken at Hunter College.
