Veshno Kumar
UTEP Admissions Advisor; UTEP Administrative Advisor
Veshno Kumar (she/her) is the Admissions Advisor and Administrative Advisor for the Undergraduate Teacher Education Program (UTEP) at Hunter College School of Education. In these roles, she supports the recruitment and advisement of prospective undergraduate Education majors while guiding current students through academic and New York State teacher certification processes. She manages student experiences, including registration support, records updates, and degree audits.
An alum of the Childhood Education (QUEST) program, Veshno taught for two years and then worked for an education consulting business, before returning to recruit and support future educators.
Veshno holds New York State Certification to teach grades 1-6 and has been recognized as salutatorian with History Honors from Hunter College. She has participated in programs like the PASE Summer Teaching Fellowship, Uncommon Schools Summer Teaching Fellowship, and NYC Men Teach, reflecting her dedication to education and mentorship.
In her spare time, Veshno enjoys reading and exploring new music, constantly seeking to expand her horizons.
