Teaching

In my teaching philosophy, I prioritize student identity diversity, student wellness and the diversity of students’ needs for support in learning and practice. As a counselor educator, I believe there is a need to challenge and support all counselors-in-training to see themselves and other people with humility, compassion, and as advocacy agents.

Research

My research interests are vast and centers on issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, with particular emphasis on Black people’s lived experiences, their narratives, and their meaning-making processes as acts of resistance against oppression.
