Mission: Building Leaders Who Make a Better World
The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is an organization that helps Hunter College students discover and achieve their goals. The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) offers life-changing lectures from the nation’s leading presenters and a community where like-minded, success-oriented individuals come together and help one another succeed. The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) also serves as a powerful force of good in the greater community by encouraging and organizing action to better the world.
In addition to honorable distinction, the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) provides a step-by-step program for members to build their leadership skills through participation of their chapter. The chapter offers much flexibility with the opportunity to complete induction steps online without having to attend any events on campus. Upon completion of the program, members receive their leadership certificate and take their place among the top student leaders at Hunter College and across the country. Members are able to list their affiliation on all statements of personal accomplishment, including their resume. Leadership development is important at any stage of life, and this program is something that can help students grow personally and professionally.
Membership is for life and provides access to benefits including scholarships and awards, employer recruitment through an online job bank, online resources in the Member’s Area of our website, customized letters of recommendation for prospective employers or graduate schools, discounts on computers, textbooks, graduate school prep courses, insurance, and much more.

Online Orientation, Leadership Training Day, Three Speakers Broadcast, Three Success Networking Team (SNT) Meetings
Eligible members will be invited to participate in an online orientation, online leadership training day and three speakers broadcasts. Videos and training modules are accompanied by a series of questions to prove your understanding of the material covered.
Additionally, eligible members will participate in Three Success Networking Team (SNT) Meetings. Success Networking Team (SNT) meetings are planning sessions designed to help set goals and overcome obstacles. Using a proven formula for producing results, you will clarify your goals, benefit from other people’s experience, and commit to specific action steps to achieve your desired results. The purpose of the Success Networking Team is to provide a support network for you as you set goals and begin working towards them.
This program is self paced.
Completion and Induction
Once the steps above are completed, members are then inducted into the honor society. Since the Hunter chapter is an online chapter, there is no induction ceremony that will take place in person. Your induction kit gets mailed to the home address listed on your profile and you can expect to receive that within 1-2 weeks of when you completed all of your steps. You may also purchase our graduation accessories to wear at your graduation to display your membership in our organization. Membership items also consist of national leadership certification, a Society insignia pin, car decal, a plaque (if purchased separately on your membership application), and a Sigma Alpha Pi T-shirt. This induction kit will be sent to your home address upon completing the induction steps to earning membership.
