Background

Uchechukwu Lawrence Njoku is the Principal of John Jay School for Law and former principal of the School of Mathematics Science and Technology Through Arts (MSTA) in the Bronx, New York, a Kennedy Center Turnaround Arts School. Previous to this role Uche was the Assistant Principal at Bronx Early College Academy and Lewis E Rowe Elementary School in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has been a special education teacher and dean of students. In addition, he has been an Ally at the Cahn Fellows Program for Distinguished Principals. Uche earned his Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the Summer Principals Academy at Teachers College, Columbia University, and his Bachelor of Arts in Film and Media Studies from the University of Rochester. Uche is the creator and host of The Sneaker Principal Podcast, a platform to explore the crossroads between education and culture.
