Background

As a Bronx native, Marisol has always had a passion for empowering the community of her childhood. After graduating from Vassar College, Marisol enrolled in the New York City Teaching Fellows Program and began teaching in the Bronx. She became a Teacher Leader through Bank Street College of Education before earning her second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Bank Street College, as part of the renowned Principal’s Institute. In 2010, she became an Assistant Principal at an elementary/middle school in District 9 and was instrumental in its educational reform. In 2015, she attended a Leadership Institute at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. Currently, she is the Principal of P.S. 110 in the Bronx, The Theodore Schoenfeld School, and she plans to continue striving for equitable educational excellence and community empowerment.
