Kam Waugh-Gordon

Kam Waugh-Gordon has been an educator in NYC public schools for thirteen years. She has served as a Teacher, Assistant Principal, and, most recently, the Founding Principal of Bronx Legacy High School (BXL). Rooted in Equity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism, and Belonging, BXL is the first high school to launch in the Bronx in the last eight years. As a Bronx native, she has dedicated her life to positively affecting academic outcomes for students in the Bronx community. Kam has served in many leadership roles, including Equity Ambassador, Assistant Principal Leadership Facilitator, and Inspired Leaders Coach, throughout her time with the Department of Education. Kam’s ultimate goal is to work and learn alongside stakeholders to build more inclusive structures that interrogate oppressive systems and help community members build creative and equitable solutions for future generations.
