Jodi Contento
Gray Fellow 2023 to 2024
Jodi Contento is a transformational leader with tremendous dedication and commitment to student learning and improving outcomes. She has committed to changing the lives of children since 2001. She takes pride in continuous learning, self-reflection and growth. Under her principalship at PS 78 located in Stapleton, Staten Island, she has worked tirelessly to improve school culture and lead a struggling community through and out of a pandemic. Through collaboration with the larger Staten Island community, she opened a food pantry, laundry and technology room and partnered with D79 to provide adult education 6 days a week. This has ensured families are supported and removes possible barriers that may negatively impact student learning. She believes that all students can succeed when given the appropriate tools and resources. Jodi is committed to implementing transformational change through the Gray Fellows program. She is looking forward to examining her personal leadership development, enacting systemic change within her school, and contributing to broader change within education in NYC.
