Background

Hesham Farid has been the Principal of Paul L. Dunbar Middle School since 2015 and has spent his entire 22-year career in the South Bronx. Prior to becoming a principal, Hesham served as a special needs teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. A proud alum of the Teaching Fellows and LEAP programs, he holds degrees from Stony Brook University and Lehman College, as well as certifications from Baruch College and the College of Saint Rose.

Through his leadership, Hesham brings a passion for meeting students and staff where they are and positively impacting their respective journeys. Outside of education, Hesham is a New York-born and raised hip-hop enthusiast, basketball fanatic, and sneakerhead, but he cites his truest love as being a husband and father of three beautiful children.
