Background

Christine M. Britton is the Founding Principal of P.S. 384 – Hunters Point Elementary, located in Long Island City, Queens. Her core beliefs—collaboration, creativity, and citizenship—foster opportunities for young people to act on their curiosity and love for learning. With the support of a strong teaching team, an inclusive community, and intentional instructional practices, P.S. 384 – Hunters Point Elementary continues to strive for academic excellence and strengthens the belief in public schools. Additionally, Christine serves on the Superintendent Fellows Team, where she helps develop initiatives and practices to foster student achievement across District 30 schools.

Christine’s educational career began as a NYC Teaching Fellow in District 32 and progressed to roles such as Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, and New School Project Director. She has participated in the New School Residency, Assistant Principal Leadership Institute (APLI), Advanced Leadership Program for Assistant Principals (ALPAP), and Teacher Leadership Program. Christine earned an Advanced Certificate in Administration and Supervision from Hunter College, an M.A. in Childhood Education from St. John’s University, and a B.A. in English Rhetoric from Binghamton University as a Presidential Scholar.
