Beverly Urquiza

Beverly Urquiza, born and raised in the Bronx, has served as Principal of Bronx Little School for the past seven years. A school of business graduate from Syracuse University, she worked for Bear Stearns before joining the NYC Teaching Fellows. Beverly later on went to receive her Masters of Science in Early Education from Lehman College and a Masters of Science in Education Administration from Baruch College.

Beverly prides herself in creating an environment in which students are seen and heard. With a heavy focus on social emotional learning and development of leadership skills, Bronx Little School students are C.E.O.s (Chief Examples for Others). In the Inside Schools edition of “Best Bets in the Bronx: Elementary Schools” Bronx Little School was chosen as the number one school for District 12 for providing the perfect mix of structure and freedom.
