Elaine Gale and her Team Celebrate International Week of Deaf People with Release of App

Happy International Week of Deaf People! To kick off the week, Elaine Gale, Associate Professor and Program Leader of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education, and her team Luci Gale, Patrice Creamer, Suzy Best, and Zivia Gale released their “Deaf Gain What?!” bilingual storybook app. They are grateful for the support received from Gallaudet’s Motion Light Lab (ML2), which has made this bilingual storybook app possible.

See “Deaf Gain What?!” characters in the 4th Deaf Leadership International Alliance (DLIA) tip sheet that was also released this week to celebrate and raise awareness. The tip sheet provides ways to recommend and incorporate Deaf Leadership in Family Centered Early Intervention (FCEI). View Dr. Gale’s American Sign Language (ASL) translation of the tip sheet as well as its translation into other languages.
