Background

As the Principal of PS 23 in Staten Island, Paul leads a PreK-5 elementary school recognized as a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School for Exemplary High Performance and a Leader In Me Lighthouse School of Academic Distinction. This prestigious award underscores his effective leadership and the school’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence.

In recognition of his distinguished leadership, Paul was honored as a 2020 Cahn Fellowship Program graduate for Distinguished Principals. He is also a certified Franklin Covey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People & Successful Families facilitator, reflecting his dedication to personal and professional development.

Paul has shared his expertise at numerous prestigious conferences, including as a presenter at the 2011 and 2019 Leader In Me Global Summit, and at the annual Leader In Me New York Symposium from 2012 to 2016. Additionally, he presented “Leadership 4 ALL” at the November 2019 District 31 Principal’s Conference.

Active in several professional organizations, Paul is a member of the National Association of Elementary Principals (NAESP) and the Council of School Supervisors & Administrators (CSA) President’s Club. He has also participated in the Staten Island Borough President’s Principal’s Advisory Council and the Executive Superintendent’s and Superintendent’s Advisory Committee. Furthermore, he is a member of ASCD: Professional Learning and Community for Educators, showcasing his ongoing commitment to professional growth.
