Jonathan Levin

Background

Jonathan Levin is an accomplished educator and administrator currently serving as Principal of The Clinton School, a 6-12 public school in District 2. He is a native New Yorker, husband to Kara, who is also a NYC Principal, and a proud father of two young men. Jonathan holds degrees and professional certificates from Oberlin College, New York University, Pace University, and City College. He is currently a candidate for his Doctorate in Education at Hunter College.

The Clinton School is an “IB for All” school that offers all students the opportunity to earn an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in grades 11 and 12. The IB is widely recognized as the most challenging comprehensive education programme in the world. In the 2024-2025 school year, Clinton will be a candidate for authorization to add the Middle Years Programme, which will support grades 6-10 in the IB.

Jonathan has a proven track record of implementing innovative teaching methodologies, promoting student engagement, and fostering collaboration among faculty members. In the last year that NYC Public Schools used report cards, Clinton was ranked as the number one school in the city.

Jonathan is passionate about providing students with a holistic education that goes beyond academics. He believes in nurturing students’ social, emotional, and physical well-being, and he encourages them to become active and engaged citizens in their communities. Under his leadership, The Clinton School has become known for its rigorous academic curriculum, extracurricular activities, and commitment to learning outside the four walls of the classroom.
