Jasmira Caceres

Ms. Jasmira Caceres serves as the Principal of Don Pedro Albizu Campos School, a Kindergarten to 8th-grade Title 1 public school in Harlem. She is a dedicated educational leader and proud mother of two, hailing from New York City. Under her leadership, the school boasts a thriving Dual Language program, equipping students to become bilingual and biliterate. Her expertise in Special Education has enabled her to integrate specialized programs, ensuring all learners are served effectively.
With over 18 years of experience in education, Ms. Caceres has a proven track record of fostering academic excellence, implementing inclusive practices, and nurturing a culture of high expectations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in childhood education with a minor in Special Education, a master’s degree in Special Education, and a Master’s in School Building Leadership.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Caceres was an Assistant Principal at Fred R. Moore Public School, where she led a successful collaboration with the Harlem Children’s Zone after-school program, resulting in significant improvements in students’ reading scores. Her educational philosophy is grounded in the importance of collaborative partnerships in achieving educational success.
Ms. Caceres is an Executive Board member of the Middle School Principals Association (MSPA) and maintains strong ties with local businesses and city council members to support school-
