Dana Calvet
Doctoral Student
Background
Dana Calvet is a mom, student, and teacher. She is in her fourth year of the EdD program. She has worked as a full-time lecturer and advisor in TESOL teacher education at CUNY Queens College since 2015. For her dissertation, she is studying in what ways transracial adoptees experience subtractive bilingualism and assimilation in the ENL classroom. She hopes this work can help emergent bi/multilingual learners have more equitable and decolonized public schooling experiences.
