Third Annual Social-Emotional Learning Symposium
The School of Education co-sponsored and hosted The Urban Assembly’s 3rd Annual Social-Emotional Learning Symposium. Educational Leaders from across the country joined internationally recognized speaker and social justice advocate Jamira Burley, as well as practitioners, policy-makers, and administrators from across the city to discuss the implementation and sustainability of approaches to social-emotional learning and development in K-12 education. This year’s theme was “Pursuing Equity Through Social-Emotional Learning” and was focused on the strengths of our students, communities, and school system, and how Social-Emotional Learning enhances those strengths to support social, economic, and educational access.
