Mariana Souto-Manning, Elise C. Tepper Education Fellow, Works with Hunter School of Education Community
During the Spring 2019 semester, Dr. Mariana Souto-Manning of Teachers College served as the Elise C. Tepper Education Fellow with keynote addresses, workshops, book clubs, and by working with students in Early Childhood Education. Through her work with the School of Education, Dr. Souto-Manning, author of several books including Multicultural Teaching in the Early Childhood Classroom, challenged the Hunter College community to think of teaching as activism and to explore ways to approach teaching through the lens of cultural relevance, equity, and justice.
