Adolescent Social Studies Student Receives Fulbright
Bradley Eckerson, a current Adolescent Social Studies student, received a Fulbright to work as an English-Teaching Assistant in Rwanda this summer. The Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Program aims to strengthen educational and cultural relationships between the United States and Rwanda. As an English-Teaching Assistant Eckerson will assist with English Language programming at a secondary or post-secondary institution. He will also facilitate sessions and run programs in the American Center through the U.S. Embassy.
According to Eckerson he has “… always been drawn to helping others reach their full potential. Before entering the world of education, I had various Sales and Marketing positions at Major League Soccer, Disney Theatrical Group, Macy’s, and New York Road Runners. In every position, I always pursued leadership and mentorship opportunities, seeking out ways to help others be successful. I also serve as a soccer coach and I am always looking for new ways to help players develop their skills and become the best versions of themselves. And now as a Global History Teacher, I look forward every day to helping students use history as a means to both think critically about the world around them, and to also find their own passions.”
