Harlem Empowerment Project (HEP) is looking for a part-time instructor for a High School Equivalency (TASC/GED) preparation class. The ideal candidate will be teaching all five subject areas for the TASC exams (reading, writing, social studies, math and science).

Responsibilities

• Create individualized lesson plans and activities for students of varying abilities and needs
• Keep accurate and detailed records on attendance, and student progress
• Participate in community outreach and student recruitment efforts as needed

Qualifications

• College graduate with teacher training qualification
• Thorough knowledge of and teaching experience in all five subject areas of the TASC exam (reading, writing, social studies, math and science)
• Familiarity with the TASC exam and the test-taking environment for both the paper and computer-based exams
• Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 2:30PM to 5:30 PM in East Harlem
