Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate with school personnel to determine the focus and efforts in providing services to students based on their IEP
• Work persistently to meet the goals of each child as stated on their IEP
• Prepare, draft, and finalize all elements of an IEP and conduct an IEP meeting
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with teachers to ensure knowledge of classroom standards
• Conference with parents/guardians of assigned children by providing information on student progress
• Provide specialized instruction in a content area for special classes (self-contained classrooms)
• Knowledge of the IEP process
• Possess New York State certification in Special Education

• Salary is based on the Department of Education’s teacher salary schedule
