Long Island University Brookville Campus is seeking a part-time Mental Health Counselor.

Responsibilities

• provide direct psychological counseling services to students
• provide appropriate preliminary mental health assessment of students and referral information as needed in consultation with the Director
• provide direct crisis intervention and assist the Director in the coordination of critical interventions during emergent situations on campus
• collaborate with off-campus providers and agencies, as needed and directed.

Required Skills or Software

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately
• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Word 2013
• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Excel 2013
• Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks
• Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment

Required Degree, License or Certifications

• Master’s degree in counseling psychology, psychology, clinical social work or a related field.
• Licensed or license eligible for independent practice as a psychologist, clinical social worker or professional counselor in the State of New York.
