Columbia Secondary School is a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) focused public school that serves students in the sixth through tenth grade. The program is focused on leadership, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Social Emotional Learning, community service and academics. Students engage in weekly hikes, gardening initiatives, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) activities, job shadowing and college readiness programs.

Position Overview

Group leaders are responsible for academic tutoring and assisting lead instructors in preparing students to demonstrate newly acquired skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), leadership, sports and the arts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Experience working with youth in a classroom, after school, or community-based environment
• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in progress preferred
• Experience as a Group Leader using a positive youth development model preferred
