Teaching With Love

Wed, Dec 16 2020 6:00pm-8:00pm

This has been an incredibly difficult year, and it is an especially challenging time to be a teacher. As the semester draws to a close, we invite you to take a break from your hectic schedule and the stress of the season to reflect on your calling to teach.

You are cordially invited to Teaching with Love, a talk facilitated by Susan Gonzowitz, Founding Managing Director of the East Harlem Teaching Residency.

While politicians and scholars debate what the future of teaching and learning will mean in a country torn apart by politics, racism, economic inequality, and pandemic, we ensure that our students thrive by creating a homeplace for them. As teachers, we are called to create teaching and learning spaces that are built on love and the recognition of our students’ humanity. We must ask ourselves how our daily practices work to heal, liberate, and educate the young people we serve.

We hope you’ll join us in this conversation!

Please RSVP to receive a Zoom link.
