Radical Care: A Framework for Leading for Justice in Urban Schools

Join us for a conversation with Dr. Rivera-McCutchen.

Dr. Rivera-McCutchen began her career as a teacher in the South Bronx and continues to embed her research and her career there as a professor and the Coordinator of School and District Leader programs at Lehman College. She is the chair of the AERA Leadership for Social Justice Special Interest Group.

Radical Care, Dr. Rivera-McCutchen’s innovative framework, focuses on supports for urban school leaders in challenging the existing structures that reproduce inequality. The framework’s components include anti-racism, strategically navigating the socio-political climate, cultivating authentic relationships as leaders, and having radical hope.
