Pursuing Equity through Social- Emotional Learning

Fri, May 24 2019 9:00am-3:00pm

The Urban Assembly is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing social and economic mobility to youth attending our schools by providing them with the academic and life skills necessary for postsecondary success.

The Urban Assembly Social-Emotional Learning Symposium is our gathering for education leaders across the country who bring important and diverse perspectives around the implementation and sustainability of approaches to social-emotional learning and development in K-12 education. This year’s theme is “Pursuing Equity Through Social-Emotional Learning” and is focused on the strengths of our students, communities, and school system, and how SEL enhances those strengths to support social, economic, and educational access.

Join internationally recognized speaker and social justice advocate, Jamira Burley, as well as practitioners, policy-makers and administrators from across the city to discuss the science, implementation and sustainability of social-emotional learning programs and supports.
