NYC Men Teach: Spring 2019 Workshop with Dr. Django Paris

Tue, Mar 12 2019 12:00pm-2:00pm

Join NYC Men Teach scholars for a special interactive workshop on creating culturally sustaining educational settings hosted by Dr. Django Paris.  We enjoyed Dr. Paris’ workshop in November and are eager to learn more from him as he will be returning to Hunter to provide a second workshop for NYCMT students.  Lunch will be provided.

Dr. Paris is a professor of Multicultural Education and the director of the Banks Center for Educational Justice at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is the author of Language across Difference: Ethnicity, Communication, and Youth Identities in Changing Urban Schools. Additionally, he is the co-editor of Culturally Sustaining Pedagogies: Teaching and Learning for Justice in a Changing World.
