Lessons Learned: A Conversation about Online Instruction for Pre-K – Grade 6 during COVID19

The sudden transition to online learning took the education community by surprise. For those teachers and administrators working with young children, remote teaching presented unprecedented challenges.

Undoubtedly this sudden transition to online teaching and learning has redefined young children’s education in ways that could potentially expose inequities, or present new ways to better engage all learners.

Through a panel of New York City teachers and administrators, we will explore what worked and what didn’t during the transition to online learning, and explore how educators have engaged families and children while keeping a focus on inclusion and equity.
