Join us for an engaging webinar hosted by the Technology Infusion Across Teacher Preparation Special Interest Group (TIP SIG) of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE), featuring the CUNY Computing Integrated Teacher Education (CITE) team. This session will highlight how the City University of New York—home to the largest pipeline of New York City public school teachers—is leading a multi-campus effort to meaningfully integrate computing and digital literacies across teacher preparation programs.
Through a multi-year initiative supported by NYC Public Schools and philanthropic partners, CUNY CITE has already supported over 330 faculty and reached more than 8,700 teacher candidates with redesigned courses that foreground equity, digital fluency, and computational thinking. With a bold goal that all CUNY education students experience coherent and impactful computing integrations by 2028, this initiative offers valuable insights into institutional transformation, program-level redesign, and sustainable faculty development.
Whether you are reimagining your own program’s approach or seeking inspiration from large-scale strategic planning in urban education, this webinar invites you into a conversation on what it truly takes to prepare every teacher for today’s digital world—and every learner for tomorrow’s possibilities.
