Creating Powerful Moments of Engagement Via Formative Assessment

Free AdmissionParticipants will interactively explore a variety of opportunities to engage and respond to students, no matter the subject matter, facilitated by the digital resources Pear Deck makes available. Through the lens of supporting teachers’ real time insight into students’ learning, we will explore how to boost engagement and amplify the voice of students in both remote or face-to-face environments. The strategies and tools shared during this session are easily implemented into any area of curriculum as well as staff meetings or professional development settings
Walter Da Luz is an experienced educator, strategic consultant and change agent who has leveraged roles inside and outside of the classroom to promote student achievement and agency. As a Regional Partnership Manager at Pear Deck, an EdTech firm that enables teachers to embed formative assessments in their presentation, he forges relationships with schools and school districts across the Northeast that has helped educators connect with their students meaningfully in these times of great chaos and change.
