Advocates for the Rehabilitation in Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (AVRASA) Meet and Greet

This meet and greet is designed to introduce counseling programs students to Advocates for the Rehabilitation in Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (AVRASA). Students will learn how this organization can meet their academic as well as their professional needs.

Over the years, Hunter College and AVRASA have partnered on many events. AVRASA is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to educate, advocate, and support counselors and social service professionals to provide comprehensive and integrated services to individuals with disabilities. Throughout the year, AVRASA holds general membership meetings that feature specialized workshops. The organization also hosts an annual conference. Hunter College counseling programs students from all three programs, have had an opportunity to facilitate presentations during AVRASA meetings and conferences.

An AVRASA Executive Board member will be present to provide you with an overview of AVRASA and the professional development opportunities that are available to you.
