New Student Orientations
Welcome to the School of Education!
Most new students will attend 2 orientations to cover all the information needed to start your program. The School of Education hosts both General New Student Orientations and Program Specific Orientations or advising sessions.
General New Student Orientations
The School of Education hosts monthly virtual new graduate student orientations. These 60 minute online sessions will provide you with an overview of Hunter College and the School of Education. Additionally, you will find answers to many of your questions regarding registration, student life and certification.
General New Student Orientations will be held on the following dates, click on the link to RSVP:
- November 20, 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. – Teacher Education and Leadership Programs
- December 9, 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. – Teacher Education and Leadership Programs
- January 7, 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. – Teacher Education and Leadership Programs
- December 17, 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. – Counseling Programs (This session will include both the general orientation and program specific orientation for students admitted into Counseling programs.)
Program Specific Orientations
Each program hosts program specific orientations or individual advising sessions that cover the course of study, progress standards and fieldwork requirements. Some programs also host a fieldwork and student teaching orientation. Please select your program from the list to review the details for the upcoming sessions.
