Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) PreK-12 (MA) – Course Sequence and Program Tracker

  • Academic Plan: TESOL-MA
  • Sub Plan: TESOLLNYC
  • Track 1

Please note, this course sequence contains updated requirements that will be reflected in the 2019-2020 Course Catalog. Students must follow the requirements listed below and not those contained within the 2018-2019 Course Catalog.

Students are required to complete 39 credits in this program. Students must consult with a faculty advisor in TESOL to determine their planned course of study before registering for classes. The following is a general guide to successful and timely completion of the program. The program may be completed in as few as four semesters if these guidelines are carefully followed and the student plans their coursework with a faculty advisor. All courses listed here are requirements for graduation.

Students who graduate from their teacher preparation programs in Fall 2023 or later, will be required to complete a teacher preparation assessment (TPA) as a requirement for program completion. As of April 2022, the Hunter College School of Education is reviewing the options for the TPA and we will have more information available for students in the coming months.
