Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) – with prior MA in TESOL or Linguistics (Advanced Certificate) – Course Sequence and Program Tracker
- Academic Plan: TESOL-AC
- Program 2
Please note, this course sequence contains updated requirements that will be reflected in the 2019-2020 Course Catalog. Students must follow the requirements listed below and not those contained within the 2018-2019 Course Catalog.
Students are required to complete 27 credits in this program, unless specific prior coursework is waived. Students must consult with a faculty advisor in TESOL to determine their planned course of study before registering for classes. The following is a general guide to successful and timely completion of the program. The program may be completed in as few as three semesters plus summer coursework, if these guidelines are followed, the student begins the program in Spring semester, and the student carefully plans their coursework with a faculty advisor. All courses listed here are requirements for graduation.
Students who graduate from their teacher preparation programs in Fall 2023 or later, will be required to complete a teacher preparation assessment (TPA) as a requirement for program completion. As of April 2022, the Hunter College School of Education is reviewing the options for the TPA and we will have more information available for students in the coming months.
