Harpreet Mundi
Doctoral Student
Harpreet Mundi began her career teaching mathematics with the NYC Department of Education in 2009 and currently serves as an assistant principal at a large high school in South Queens. She grew up in Queens, NY, and is the daughter of a Punjabi immigrant farming family. A proud product of New York City public schools, Harpreet graduated from Stuyvesant High School, where a research design course sparked her lifelong interest in inquiry and learning. After high school, she earned degrees in mathematics, biology, and school leadership from multiple campuses within the City University of New York (CUNY) system.
Now pursuing her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at CUNY Hunter College, Harpreet is deeply committed to learning, producing, and applying research that contributes to strengthening communities through positive math experiences and the development of productive mathematical disposition.
Even though she has lived in New York City for almost her entire life, Harpreet loves that there is always something new to discover. She especially enjoys exploring the city’s parks, libraries, and museums with her two-year-old son, Daniel.
