UCARE
The Hunter College Urban Center for Assessment, Research, and Evaluation (UCARE) was established to serve colleges and universities, K-12 public schools, and community-based organizations in their efforts to improve teaching and learning in urban settings. In keeping with this mission, our center offers a variety of programs and services including:

Our Goals
- In keeping with our stated mission, UCARE strives to achieve the following goals:
- To advance multi- and inter-disciplinary social and psychological research and theory in urban settings;
- To provide professional development for urban school personnel in the collection, analysis, interpretation and use of assessment data for school improvement;
- To provide professional development for urban school personnel in the identification, selection, and implementation of appropriate instructional technology;
- To conduct school-based program evaluations and assist program personnel in the training and development of program evaluation activities;
- To disseminate knowledge on urban public schools through Center publications, symposia, workshops, and conferences.
