The Hunter College School of Education went through an in-depth accreditation review of the school and its programs by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) in spring 2016.  As a result, the School of Education was awarded continued accreditation through October 2023.  NCATE accreditation is the teaching profession’s “seal of approval.” It means that the college of education has met national professional standards (initial and advanced) for the preparation of teachers and other school specialists.
