Literacy Professor Discusses Seneca Village in Central Park Conservancy Magazine
The Central Park Conservancy Magazine recently featured Dr. Nadine Bryce, Associate Professor of Literacy, in an article where she answers questions about Seneca Village while in conversation with John Reddick, the Conservancy’s Director of Community Engagement Projects. Through a guided tour of Seneca Village that’s built into her curriculum, students deepen their understanding of both the physical landscape and its complex history so that they are better able to connect theory with practical experience. In the article, Dr. Bryce discusses how she uses her understanding of the history of Seneca Village via the physical landscape as a pedagogical tool of resistance.
