TESOL Summer Summit – Educating Adult Learners

This online event is aimed at those already in the field of TESOL adult education or who may be interested in joining,  all curious are welcome! We hope to make this an annual event to provide information, networking opportunities, and professional development to our TESOL community. The session will be broken up into two parts.

Part One: The State of the Field

This is a panel discussion with a number of field experts who have years of experience not only as teachers of English to adults, but also with administering adult language programs here in NYC. Join us to hear insider perspectives about the realities of the field, the highs and lows, and why it is more important than ever to support each other in our work. Panelists and collaborators work with, or have worked with, private and community English programs as well as CUNY adult education and the NY Public Library adult language programs.

Part Two: What’s in a Conference?: Conferences as professional development

A session with two experienced teachers and Hunter TESOL alumni on everything you need to know about conferences, from attending to presenting – and why you would want to!
