School of Education Graduation Celebration

We are excited for the School of Education’s Graduation Celebration that will take place on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 3pm in person at Hunter North Assembly Hall. If you graduated in Fall 2023, Winter or Spring 2024, or are eligible to graduate in Summer 2024, please check your myhunter email for instructions on how to RSVP.

The School of Education Graduation Celebration Ceremony is a separate event from the Hunter College Commencement, and requires a separate RSVP. For information about the Hunter College Commencement Ceremony taking place Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 3 pm at the Barclay’s Center, please view the Commencement webpage.

Student Speaker Search

The School of Education is working hard to make the 2024 Graduation Celebration a personally meaningful event for all graduates, their family members, and friends.

We invite you to consider writing and delivering the student address to graduates. This would be a speech of 5 to 7 minutes in length.

To be considered as a student speaker, all we require is that you be eligible to participate in the Graduation Celebration and that you submit your proposed speech by May 9th. Check your myhunter email for more information.

After applications have been reviewed, finalists will be invited to audition their speech to a group of students, faculty, and staff via zoom soon after the deadline. The selected submission for the Graduation Celebration address will be assessed based on the quality of the speech and public speaking ability. We look forward to reading your submissions!

Cap and Gown

The Graduation Celebration is a formal ceremony. Faculty and graduates will wear their graduation regalia. Visit the Ordering Your Cap and Gown page for more information on purchasing your regalia.

Photos

Professional photos will be taken of participants and made available for purchase after the ceremony.

Guest Ticketing

Starting Monday, May 6th, 2024 information on how to claim two guest tickets will be emailed to graduating students who submitted an RSVP. At this time, we cannot offer more than two guest tickets due to the venue’s space limitations.

Please Note

Attending the Commencement Ceremony or Graduation Celebration and inclusion in a virtual or printed program merely indicates that an individual is a candidate for graduation, and may not be used as proof of completion of the degree requirements.
